State will play catchup this year with fire season expected to be brutal

“Unfortunately, we’re way behind on prevention mitigation and we have to continue to catch up,” GOP Assemblyman Kelly Seyarto, a veteran firefighter from Murrieta, said during an online discussion hosted Wednesday, May 19, by the Public Policy Institute of California.

“We have to do the work before (fires erupt) so we aren’t in the situation we’re in now.”
