Remembering 9/11

Today we remember the thousands of lives lost in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.

The bravery and resilience of the American spirit shone through as first responders and civilians sacrificed their safety and, in many instances, their lives to help their community and their country.

Through the darkness and evil of 9/11, people across the country came together. We showed the world that hate cannot break American resolve.

Though most of us remember exactly where we were the moment the world changed, it is almost unbelievable that 20 years have already passed.

It is now our responsibility to pass along the stories and tragic memories of this day to our children and future generations so we will truly never forget.

Today we pause to honor all we have lost, thank those who serve and continue to serve, and reflect on how blessed we are to be free in the United States of America.
