The Temecula Valley Chamber of Commerce held its annual Awards Gala Saturday, April 2, at Pechanga Resort Casino with over 800 attendees including Assemblymember Kelly Seyarto and Assemlymember Marie Waldron.
A bill aimed at improving the ability of parole agents to keep tabs on transient parolees who have been convicted of violent crimes, or who are required to register as sex offenders, has failed in committee. Assembly Bill 1827 is named The Kate Tibbitts Act of 2022 after the 61-year-old homeowner in Sacramento’s Land Park neighborhood who was killed. Those who voted in favor of the bill were: Assemblymembers Tom Lackey, R-High Desert, and Kelly Seyarto, R-Murrieta.
The legislation would implement a statewide tax exemption for military retirees. Ramos, who is the only Native American in the California Assembly, introduced the bill in January along with Assemblymember Kelly Seyarto (R-Murrieta).
City of Menifee officials celebrated the opening of the fifth park in the Audie Murphy Ranch community with a brief ceremony at Sunset Park this morning. Assemblyman Kelly Seyarto and a representative of Senator Rosilicie Ochoa Bogh’s office presented the City with proclamations.

California’s highest-in-the-nation gas prices are setting records and are only expected to get worse. The average price is now over $5 per gallon and more than a dollar above the national average. On Saturday, right here in Riverside County, the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline rose 9.8 cents to $5.134, one day after recording its largest increase since July 2015. A recent report noted that California’s taxes, fees, and regulations increased gas prices by $1.27 per gallon.
