This past legislative year, my office sent out a General Issues Survey, both via mail and email, to constituents across our district asking them to share their thoughts on the issues they care about and help shape the policies that affect our state and community. Thousands of people responded, and I wanted to take a moment and share those results with you. I appreciate everyone who took the time to answer these questions. Your input helps my team and I better understand the needs and opinions of our district. If you did not have the opportunity to fill it out, you can still take the survey…

On the grounds of the State Capitol stands the California Firefighters Memorial which bears the names of over fourteen hundred men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice while keeping the people of California safe.  I had the honor of working alongside many of them during the course of my own career in the fire service.   These firefighters passed under tragic circumstances from either the dangerous nature of their work or from illnesses acquired as a result of being exposed to hazardous materials while carrying out their duties.   In their memory, it was my honor to introduce ACR 10…

California is a beautiful place to live, but as you know, our home state is also vulnerable to many types of natural and man-made disasters. Wildfires, floods, and earthquakes can strike suddenly and with devastating impacts. While authorities are quick to respond, it is critical for families, businesses, and individuals to be ready ahead of time. Being prepared can mean the difference between life and death when you are confronted with an emergency - every second counts. As your Representative and a former firefighter, it was my honor to introduce ACR 101 to proclaim September 2021 as…
