Caring For Your Heart

February is American Heart Month.

Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in America and sadly 1 in 3 women are diagnosed with heart related conditions every year. According to the American Heart Association, however, close to 80% of these cases can be prevented through education and simple lifestyle changes.

We often worry about the well-being of our family members, but it is also important to take time to focus on your own health and self-care needs.

Simple Tips for a Healthy Lifestyle

Earlier this week, I was proud to join with my legislative colleagues to pass HR 15 recognizing the importance of heart health and to “Go Red for Women.”

With our busy and sometimes overwhelming lifestyles, it can be difficult to focus on our health. This Valentine’s Day, please take a moment to care for your heart and help raise awareness about the prevention of cardiovascular disease.

Thank you.
