SACRAMENTO – Today, a group of lawmakers announced that they will be hosting an informational forum on the barriers, challenges and solutions to preventing catastrophic wildfires. The announcement comes after the only scheduled legislative hearing on wildfires was cancelled. The forum agenda is available online here.
Assemblyman Kelly Seyarto, R-Murrieta, called SB 9 a “Band-Aid” that will steamroll complex developmental plans cities have been forced to abide by for decades. To increase housing supply, he said the state should be focused on cutting developmental fees and other red tape. “SB 9 can be called ‘community planning chaos’,” Seyarto said on the Assembly floor.
After a “soft” opening, The Canyon Lake Library has officially opened its doors to the public at its new location in the Canyon Lake Town Center. A ribbon cutting ceremony Saturday made it official.
